FOUNDERS STORY

A mission born from professional expertise and a calling to serve.

Sara McAda, MBA, CDP, CRCFA

FOUNDER & OWNER

I’m Sara McAda, founder of Next Chapter Navigator. For years, I’ve walked alongside older adults and their families, offering guidance across the senior living continuum. My goal is to help you find clarity, direction, and peace of mind as you navigate complex care decisions and move forward into life’s next chapter.

I bring years of experience in the senior living field. I am a licensed South Carolina assisted living administrator, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and an Aging Life Care Professional. In addition to leading Next Chapter Navigator, I teach part-time at Lander University’s College of Business and Technology, where I instruct several Professional Development courses and a Long-Term Care Management course.

I am deeply involved in my community with organizations such as the Junior League of Greenville, The Greenville Chamber of Commerce, The Alzheimer’s Association, Meals on Wheels of Greenville, Travelers Rest United Methodist Church and the Greenville Rotary Club.

more about me...

I served in Senior Residential Care/Assisted Living Operations for a number of years here in the Upstate.

I attended Undergrad at Lander University, and received my MBA from Southern Wesleyan University. I am currently an adjunct at Lander, where I teach Professional Development to Business Students.

I am still a licensed Community Residential Care Facility Administrator, as well as a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

In my free time I enjoy being with my Husband, Kyle, and our daughter, Emma. On the weekend you can usually find us somewhere in Northern Greenville County- having a picnic at Furman, playing at the park, or attending our church, Travelers Rest United Methodist.

Words that matter

A trusted resource for life's next chapter.

Opening quotation marks.

I cannot say enough about the incredible care Sara McAda provided for my dad while he was living with Alzheimer’s. From the very beginning, Sara brought warmth, patience, and steady reassurance into one of the hardest chapters of our lives. She didn’t just take care of my dad—she truly saw him, respected him, and loved him through every stage of his illness.

Sara has a gift that can’t be taught. She has a magical way of bringing joy, comfort, and dignity to the elderly, especially those facing memory loss. My dad lit up when she walked into the room, and her presence made him feel safe in a world that had become confusing and frightening. She understood his needs before he could express them and treated him with the same gentleness and compassion she would give her own family.

What I didn’t expect was how much she would support me, too. Sara helped me cope, helped me breathe on the days that felt impossible, and helped me navigate the emotional weight of watching someone you love change. She was not only my dad’s caregiver—she became a calm, steady anchor for our whole family.

I am forever grateful for the love, humanity, and joy she brought to my dad’s final stages. Sara’s devotion to caring for the elderly is nothing short of extraordinary, and anyone who has her in their lives is truly blessed.

"What makes Sara exceptional is the combination of warmth and professionalism she brings to work. She has a remarkable ability to see the whole person—honoring each resident’s story, preferences, and independence while coordinating complex care with grace and clarity. It’s rare to meet someone who balances heart and skill so naturally."

FAQs

Still have questions?

We're here for them all.

  • Where do you provide services?

I provide services throughout Upstate South Carolina and meet clients where they are. This may be in your home, an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, or another care setting. Being familiar with your loved one’s environment allows me to better understand their needs and develop a care plan that is realistic, effective, and truly personalized.

  • How do consultations work?

It all begins with a free 15-minute phone call. This gives us a chance to talk through your current situation, concerns, and goals, and to determine whether working together is the right next step. From there, we’ll discuss the best path forward and what level of support would be most helpful for you and your family.

  • What if I feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start?

You are not alone, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Many families contact me during moments of stress, uncertainty, or transition. My role is to help you slow things down, understand your options, and take the next right step with clarity and confidence.

  • What should I expect when working with you?

Our work together typically starts with a comprehensive assessment, which is a deep dive into all aspects of your situation — medical needs, living environment, family dynamics, and available resources. From there, I create a customized plan of care and help you implement it through ongoing guidance, coordination, and support as needs evolve.

  • How long will we work together?

Care management is person-centered and flexible, meaning the length of our work together depends entirely on your situation. Some families need short-term guidance during a transition, while others benefit from ongoing support over months or even years. We move at a pace that feels right for you.

  • Do you offer online consultations?

Yes! Initial consultations can take place by phone or Zoom when appropriate. However, the assessment portion of care does require an in-person visit so I can fully understand your loved one’s environment and needs. This ensures the most accurate and effective care planning.

  • Do you take referrals from physicians/attorneys?

Absolutely. I regularly collaborate with physicians, attorneys, financial planners, and other professionals to support shared clients. These partnerships help ensure families receive coordinated, well-informed care and guidance.

  • Are you independent from communities or agencies?

Yes. Next Chapter Navigator is completely independent. I am not affiliated with any facilities, agencies, or franchises, which allows me to provide unbiased recommendations that are solely in the best interest of my clients and their families.

  • Is this covered by insurance?

Next Chapter Navigator provides private-pay consulting services and does not bill Medicare or other insurance plans. I do not provide medical diagnoses, treatments, prescriptions, or legal or financial advice. My role is to guide, educate, coordinate care, and advocate so families can make informed decisions with confidence.
